Obituary

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life and cherish the memory of Rodney Wade Glaspie, who was born on October 24, 1955, at Camp Normal Hospital in Longview, Texas, to his late parents, Eddie and Costella Glaspie. He is preceded in death by his sister, Scheketah Adams.

Rodney's journey of faith began at an early age when he was baptized and united with Union Grove First Baptist Church. He attended Mayflower School, Maggie B. Hudson, and Longview High School. Following his education, he honorably served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army for five years. After his service, he dedicated his career to the professions of welding and truck driving.

He was a beloved brother and friend, whose memory will be forever treasured by his siblings: Lillian Reeves of Longview, Robert Glaspie (Freda) of California, Rosalia Glaspie and Rosalyn Glaspie of Longview, Tina McAlister (James) of Henderson, Everigester Adams, Jr. (Regina) of Tatum and Chris Adams of Richardson.

He is survived by children Tenisha Harrell and Rashada Cox (Punka), seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His memory is also held dear by special, caring friends: Kenny Lilly, Gerald & Ukcolunda “Peaches” Lilly, Ayana Lilly, Corrie Byrdsong, Coretta Lewis, Travis “Deondre” Davis.
