Obituary

Josephine Faggett Coleman, 79, of Longview, Texas, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 14, 2026. She was born April 1, 1946, in Harrison County, Texas, to the late Jessie Faggett and Zethia Faggett.

Josephine received her early education at Longview Independent School District in Longview, Texas.

At a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Red Oak Baptist Church - a decision that shaped her character and the compassionate way she lived her life.

Her journey led her from Longview to Dallas, where she built her career at Safe Way Distribution Center. After ten years, she returned to Longview, where she worked for Longview Independent School District, City of Longview, and R. Lacy

Outside of work, Josephine had a deep love for learning and spent many hours reading books on health and natural remedies, always seeking knowledge that could benefit herself and others. She believed in the power of natural healing and enjoyed sharing what she learned with family and friends. In addition, she found great joy in the kitchen, where she lovingly prepared meals and delighted in discovering and trying new recipes.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jessie Faggett, and her brother Richard Faggett.

Family was the center of Josephine's life. She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved mother, Zethia Faggett; two loving sisters, Charlotte Faggett and Gloria Mitchell; two devoted brothers, Clyde (Anita) Faggett and Eddie (Dorothy) Faggett; her devoted niece and caregiver, Adrienne (Bryant) Arthur, who was like a daughter to her; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
