Bruce Edward Powell Sr. was born March 9, 1958 in Marion County, Texas to the parentage of Robert
Clarence Powell and Lorene Marie Smith. He attended his early school days in Jefferson ISD before
graduating from Killeen High School in 1975. Bruce accepted Christ at an early age at Corinth Baptist
Church. Bruce worked various areas of employment over the years before going to work for Norris Trucking as a
truck driver which he loved dearly until his health failed.
Bruce transitioned to his heavenly home Sunday, April 16th at home surrounded by his loved ones. He
was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lemuel Ray Williams, Jerome Harper Jr., Darius Powell, and
Robert Anthony Powell.
He leaves to cherish the wonderful memories: his loving and devoted wife Brenda; daughter Kamika Shivers of Savannah, Georgia; sons Bruce Powell II of Longview, Texas, Brycen Powell of Elysian Fields, Texas, and Demetrist (Marsha) Maddox of Keller, Texas; granddaughters Raykeycia Harris and Acelynn Powell; brothers Alfred (Robbie) Smith, Robert Lawrence Jobe, Robert (Sonja) Harper, and Trebor Powell; sisters Hattie Washington, Colita (Adam) Dillie, Sherrie (Lee) Houff, Donna Tabron, and Brenda (Lee) Hightower; loving mother-in -law Eddie Lee (Ma) Barnes; sister-in laws Donna (Harold) Barnes, Altheria Gale (Darold) Seals, Teresa Cooley, Patsy Hudson, and Millicent Phillips along with a host of nieces, nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. A loving bonus mom Verline Gordon.
